General von Lancaster is a gorgeous 5 year old long haired German Shepherd. Our big beautiful living teddy bear is ready to find his forever home.  General was taken to the local shelter by his former familywith countless foxtails embedded in his paws. Our volunteer saw a quiet spirit that wasn't ready to be thrown away.  His feet are nearly healed from the foxtails, and he is receiving body massages at his foster home, which he really seems to enjoy! General is a big boy, and although on the thin side, he still weighs 80 pounds so that it is easier on his frame.  Make no mistake, even though he is thin, he is a very large boy! He is house trained, and gets along well with the other dogs in the home.  He would not do well with a demanding alpha or youngster.  He deserves a quiet life without hassles from others.  He is not good with cats or chickens.  They are simply too enticing.  He loves when the foster family's grandchildren come to visit.  He just lights up with delight. Although he is gentle with the children, a home with older kids would be preferred so that toddlers aren't knocked over or fall on him. General requires little exercise, and he does self regulate as to his energy level.  He is happy spending time with people, and lounging on his big fluffy bed.  He alerts when someone comes to the home, but he is not barky.  He is great in the car and loves to go for car rides. His foster family absolutely adores him, and has told him that he can stay until his perfect family comes along.
